HISTORY OF THE GRAND LODGE OF CALIFORNIA
The Order Sons of Italy in America was founded in the State of California on September 22, 1922. Its birth was in Fresno, the geographical center of California. Fresno is an important seat of one of the richest agricultural zones of our nation with the area enriched by the sacrifices, work, and genius of the Italian people. From the Sons of Italy's beginnings in Fresno, it spread it roots over the entire State and into Nevada.
Giuseppe Verdi Lodge 1441 was founded on January 6, 1927, by Nello Ceccarelli, Frank Parigini, Bruno Pagni, Luigi Giannotti, and Albert Pisani. Since its early beginnings the Lodge has become a part of the City of Sparks' Italian culture and heritage.
